Harvesting every individual thought and idea in a large group can be done in several different ways, but sometimes this can be a struggle. A good way is to give the opportunity for everyone, even the most quiet, to reflect and then write down when she or he is ready.

Mapping on a table

Work as a group on mapping out your project. A good start is for everyone to individually write down their thoughts in silence under each card. Get a big table and use a large roll of paper as a canvas to the cards. Use slightly thicker pens.

This is a faster and less structured version of the workshop exercise The Long Table.

Example: A team planning a new project together (with MethodKit for Projects). The overview that the group creates will later result in a project plan along with a grant application. What matters now is to get it all out on the table.
