How to use

Create a space It can be a flipchart paper, a spot on a whiteboard, the corner of a table..
Then you inform the group by saying: - "This is a parking lot". You can write a P at the top of the space.
Invite the group to use the parking lot during the session by saying:

"The parking lot will be active during the session to collect ideas that don't directly relate to present topic."

They use it by writing down the ideas on post-its and placing them inside the parking lot.
Make sure to spare some time for the ending of the session to go through and acknowledge what has been put into the parking lot.

This is a great way to maintain focus and flow while harvesting ideas that pop up so they don't disappear.
