Plan to be sure the workshop gets a good start. First meeting with guests can set the scene for the rest of the workshop.

Welcoming

There are many ways to welcome your guests - the important part is that they feel welcomed. A winning concept is clarity and some ways to do it is to:

• Stand in the doorway
• Music
• Seats
• Clothing
• Drinks

Getting name tags

It is nice to have name tags. Especially when participants doesn't know each other, even if it's only one new face in the room. Name tags are a good opportunity to divide the participants into groups right from the start.

They can be in different fomats:

• Colors
• Paper on table
• Labels

Think about what suites this workshop best, for example if you move around a lot or are mainly seated at the same spot.
